Cube beamsplitters
Description:
-
Cube beamsplitters are fabricated by coating the hypotenuse of two right-angle prisms and cementing them together. This enclosed structure fully shields the internal optical coating against damage and corrosion, and effectively eliminates astigmatism present in plate beamsplitters. It delivers equal optical path lengths for both reflected and transmitted light, along with high durability and simple installation. With these outstanding features, cube beamsplitters are widely used in life science and laser systems to split incident light into two separate beams.

Beamsplitters are optical elements designed to divide incoming light into two beams at a specified ratio. They can also work in reverse to merge two individual light beams into one. Based on structural design, beamsplitters are generally categorized into two types: cube and plate.

Polarizing and Non-Polarizing Beamsplitter Fabrication Differences
PBS:Polarizing beam splitters are more challenging to manufacture due to their complex multilayer coatings, strict extinction ratio requirements, and high angular/gluing precision.
NPBS:Non-polarizing beam splitters require precision coating to suppress polarization dependence but are easier to produce than PBS with higher yield.
